Work Awards, accolades & portfolio

I’ve been earning my crust as a web designer since 1998. I strive for high quality user-focused standards-based design.

I live just outside Cambridge, England and work as Senior Web Designer for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

I’m a multi-award-winning web designer with a wealth of experience. I have spoken twice at the SDL Tridion UK user conference and I co-chair the RSPB's Web Development Standards Group.

I just wanted to say how wonderful your website is. Everything is just where you want it and so easy to use. Please don’t worry about replying—I don’t want to take up your time, I just thought that yours was the best website I’ve used in a very long time.

“A long way ahead.”

I do not think one could present a more comprehensive detailed bird identifier than yours. This site is a must for all bird watchers. Good on you.

For Argyll

“The information this site is heightened by its major innovation. Anyone anywhere can see the widening areas over which the eagles fly. Nominations and votes evidenced the international audience this website has built.”

It looks fab. It looks really fab. More than that, there are some great bits of work here that give this a really big and useful feel.

10 Best Intranets of 2007

RSPB Intranet

Nielsen Norman Group

“Well-designed intranets support employees and volunteers in achieving non-profit missions just as well as they improve productivity—and thus profitability—in for-profit businesses.”

I love the identifier guys, great work and exactly what the internet is all about—information at your finger tips — Tim Berners-Lee would be proud of you.

91%

Customer satisfaction survey

In a survey of 3,000 visitors by Virtual Surveys the RSPB website scored 91% for overall user satisfaction against a charity sector benchmark of 76% (and a previous score of 68% in 2002). At the time this was the highest score ever recorded by Virtual Surveys.

The website for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is very well designed and full of fascinating information. If you weren’t a bird lover before you logged on, there's every chance you will be by the time you log off.

The Good Web Guide

Your website is amazing—the sounds, pictures and videos make it a truly world-class resource. When I found a jay feather your site helped hugely and it is fascinating in its own right—I found myself spending ages browsing the different species. Well done!
