With support for @font-face finally widespread enough to make it useful, a rash of font delivery services have sprung up.

Frustratingly, none of the services work the same way. There are several delivery mechanisms in the mix (some using JavaScript, some not), the payment models are completely different and not all give you local copies to use in design software.
